​Agnes Scott College - Decatur, GA

 

Part-time, visiting artist in technical theatre & design in the Dramatic Arts discipline of the Theatre & Dance Department.  I oversaw all technical aspects of the department’s two-three annual theatrical productions, and two dance productions.  The standard teaching load for a visiting artist is one course in the area of expertise.  I taught courses in Stagecraft, Scenic & Lighting Design, Stage Makeup, Scenic & Lighting Design II, and Scenic Painting.

Full-time, lecturer appointment in technical theatre in the Dramatic Arts discipline of the Theatre & Performance Department.  I oversaw all technical aspects of the department’s four annual theatrical productions.  The standard teaching load in the department is 3/3.  I taught Introduction to Technical Theatre & Design, and over see the production lab assignments.

Full-time, tenure-track appointment in technical theatre in the Dramatic Arts discipline of the Department of Theatre & Dance.  I oversaw the technical aspects of the department’s four annual theatrical productions.  The standard teaching load in the department is 4/4.  I usually taught three sections of Theatre related classes in the fall and receive one course release time for overseeing students who work on the technical aspects of the fall production.  In the spring, I would commonly teach three sections of theatre related classes, and receive one course release time for overseeing technical aspects of the  spring productions.

Georgia Stage - Duluth, GA

​

Project Manager for Installation Team.  Responsibilities included:  Managed up to 30 projects at a time, AutoCAD drawings for construction, coordination of professional crews, managing budget, equipment and part orders, managing clients expectations and ensuring their satisfaction, use of company wide software for creation of purchase orders, pull lists for inventory control, coordination with director of shipping and receiving and director of drapery to ensure items were received and ready for installation, maintaining records of work done and purchases made with company credit cards, maintenance of company fleet vehicles, personnel lifts, equipment and safety, co-ran weekly production meetings to ensure schedules were kept, coordination of installation calendar.

"The purpose of the Master of Fine Arts degree in Technical Production is to train the candidate for a career in professional or university theater. The three-year program is organized to prepare the candidate to assume responsibility for the entire production process from technical drawings through strike. This is achieved through classes and modules that include training in drafting, AutoCAD, construction, structural design, rigging, sound, electronics, mechanical systems and shop management.

 

PlayMakers Repertory Company, a professional Equity theater and a member of the League of Resident Theaters, is affiliated with the Department of Dramatic Art. The candidate’s work with the PRC shop is an integral part of the training. The candidate participates as if he or she were a member of the professional staff of PRC. Professional attitude, quality of work and punctuality are expected from all members of the professional staff, and this applies to the candidate as well."
